I think I just solved the issue of dragging around an 8x10 to EVERY gig...a sealed 4x10 from fliptops! It is constructed exactly like the vintage 8x10, but cut in half. I also went with casters and cups on top that fit the SVT (and a new grillcloth panel to match). The casters enable me to roll the entire rig instead of lifting it, which is a big bonus! Anyway, just wanted to plug Fliptops. This cab cosmetically is flawless. Very happy with it. Im trying to slowly break in the speakers so I have only played at low volumes so far, but it sounds excellent at low volumes! I had to wait a month, but it was definitely worth the wait! Quick pics:
Nice!!! How's the sound? Authentic SVT? And the price? Is it 4 ohms, what is the RMS capability? Again, super cool!
awesome. always been curious about thier products. please give us more pics and a detailed review when you can. JR
very cool. but you may need twice the wattage to get the same volume at a gig is it internally divided like the svt? (2 separate sealed enclosures inside) i think this is one of the secrets to the svt sound. im sure it sounds good, just being nosey. johnny a
This is way cooler than what I thought you'd be talking about. I figured you bought that Ampeg mini-SVT thing. This is the real deal.

That description says that is has delta speakers. Those don't sound like the electro-harmonix/eminence speakers that are in the 8x10 cabs at all.
Thank God for that! The only reason anyone uses those horrible EH speakers is because they're 32 ohm. I'd take a Delta any day over them. My Delta 15A in my Fliptops double baffle replica cab rocks!
The delta's are punchier and louder but don't have quite as much treble response as the EH speakers. Thats all.
The Delta goes to 3.5k, and I can't find the freq specs on the EH. Maybe I'm confusing the EH's with the Eminences. Sorry about that if I am.
Yep, divided into two separate sealed enclosures. It is 4ohm of course. As far as the wattage, its seeing 300 watts. I dont need it to BE an 8x10, I already have a vintage one. I just needed HALF of one for the times I dont need the 8x10!
Well, I dont have them in my flatback 8x10, so I dont know how to compare them. I have CTS's in my 8x10. Sunday night I will get a chance to post my first impressions.
