My New (to me) Fender PB-551

    Fender Japan Rocks!!!
    This girl was made in the Fuji-gen plant in 1985 or 1986. I put DR Black Beauties on it. Sounds maybe a bot too bright, but they should tame down nicely. And they look killer.
    A couple small scratches here and there, but no dings or dents.
    Took about 10 minutes with a Dremel buffer to get off most of 25 years' worth of chicken wings and beer.
    This seems to be a rather unique bass.
    The real crime is, that since I paid $179 for it, some schmoe let it go for about $90!

    sweet bass. Gotta love fender japan. I've got a similar j bass that (I think) was made in Japan that I paid $175 for. I bought it as a "beater bass" and now it's one of my main stage basses. It's great for the mid rangey rock stuff. enjoy the new bass.

    i like the all blackness. what about some black anodized p bass knobs for it?
