Hey guys just got my first G&L. In fact I have never even held a G&L bass before in my life. I went out on a limb with this guitar. So it arrived today. Its a USA SB-2 in 3-tone Sunburst with the MFD P/J combo. Maple neck.

I havent had a chance to plug it in yet but playing unplugged it sounds great and plays even better. Why have I not considered G&L's over Fenders in the past? This one plays way better than my USA Fender Jazz. Thursday I will put it through the ringer at practice and report back on the sound. Until then here are a couple pics.

  2. sweet. congratulations. i have GAS'd over an SB-2 in my past. the prices are pretty reasonable, too. i can't wait to hear what you think of it.

    robb.

Very nice! I had one that looked just like that in the past. I'm impatiently waiting for mine to arrive in a couple of days.

    Congrats!

lol, its cool Bobb I was just kidding also. I love me some Fenders as well.

Bed: Yeah I will be playing it through a BBE BMax preamp, RMX 1850HD (soon to be PLX1602) and Ampeg SVT-410HLF.

Is it the P neck, or the J neck?

Ether way, I've played and SB-1, and they are really, really nice basses. I certainly wouldn't mind owning another G&L (former L2000 owner), and since I like stoopid simple basses, an SB would fit me like a glove.
