My new Warwick Streamer Jazzman!

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by HotTubesGrooves, Sep 16, 2005.

  1. Its finally here! My fretless jazzman has arrived...

Aside from some harware and setup issues (Which I am shocked at considering the price and Warwicks reputation :scowl: ) which I have outlined in a thread in setup and repair, its just gorgeous.

The Ovankol neck just feels amazing, and the grain is beautiful. The unlined ebony fingerboard is the nicest playing surface I have ever felt! Its like polished glass. :smug:

The flamed maple top is quite understated, but I havent waxed it yet so I expect that will bring it out more. The whole feel of the bass is so solid, its just leagues ahead of the Rockbass I have been playing. :D

I will post pics in the next few days, and maybe some sound clips too if I can get round to it. My dream of owning a real warwick has come true!!! :hyper:

I can't wait for pics either. Warwick pics are like porn to me. I don't know too many people with Streamer Jazzmans (the majority of Jazzmans I've seen were of the Corvette variety) so this should be sweet.

Setup issues can seem odd, but no matter what price I get a bass at, I'll still have my repair guy/luthier do a pro setup on it since climate changes during shipping can betray a setup that was probably stellar out of the factory.

And I can empathize with your elation to owning a real Warwick after much time spent jamming on cheapies. I'd wanted one since I was 16 and bought a preowned Corvette Standard from a TBer earlier this year. What an amazing bass she is.

I owned a Streamer Jazzman 5er in nirvana black stain for a little over a year. It was a very nice bass, and I was able to get some pretty cool tones out of it. But, I was just never able to feel totally comfortable with it to make it worth hanging onto. So, I sold it.

They are very nice basses, though, and I am sure you will be very happy with yours. Congrats. :)
