I have had this bass for about 8 years now, and I wanted something new, so I switched the body for a white one. I don't know if it still counts as a GL, but at least it doesn't look like every other geddy out there.

Let me know what you think.

Looks great! Did you re-paint the original body, or get a new white one?

I put a new white one on it. It is a MIM, and it took a LOT of filing and sanding to get the neck to fit. I notice no sound difference between the two bodies yet, but I haven't played it in the band setting yet.

Keeping my fingers crossed. This was quite a risk, as the GL is my #1 bass and I probably shouldn't F' with it, but it is too late now.

That is really a beautiful new look, man. Are there any differences between MIM and MIA bodies? I don't know these things : /

But I definitely give you the thumbs up for that hoooot looking bass.

Variety is nice. I like the look!

Question: did you sand the body, the neck, or both?

I only sanded the body, as I plan on one day reassemblinging the GL, so I didn't want to mess with the neck. I don't know many differences with MIA and MIM bodies, but I hear the wood selection may not be as good. I think it will be fine

I did the same thing with my Geddy and an MIM Body a while back.

Awesome. You can always put her back the way she was, so, no worries!

Damnit, so much for the "Do you have a bass no one else has" thread.

Nino, how much work did you have to put into the fitting? This thing took me a while, but this was my first attempt.

  13. Looks awesome!

Not usually a fan of white, but this bass kills!

Very nice, but I like the look of the black one more

To be honest, I like the look of the black more as well, but the black GL is sort of like the black converse of the bass world. Sure they look cool, but EVERYONE has them.

The neck fit the body perfectly.

  17. wow looks great man..

the whole reason i never got a geddy bass was i couldnt get over how ugly the black white combo is and how boring black black is.

if they every made a white geddy bass i'd buy it.

the geddy is the only jazz bass i would even think about buying, just wish it would come in more colors.

Wow, mine was way off. About and 1/8th of an inch on the sides and not quite 1/4th of an inch to short.

  19. where'd you get that "MIM" body? take a look at Nino's photo...look closely...does that look like yours?...

yours seems a bit more "squared off" that the "Nino Lee".

I got it off of e-bay, mine might also look different due to the ill fitting StewMac pickguard.
