I recently ordered a 5-string singlecut from Cliff, and he's going to keep me updated of the progress w/ pics.
This is the only place that will understand the excitement of waiting for a new bass(5 months).
Here are the pics that I just received of the:
    Body laminates
    Neck blank

  2. Wow! That's some cool looking wood for the body laminate. What is it?

    The neck is:

    Maple / Bubinga

  4. I think he makes some really beautiful looking basses. I wish i had a chance to try one.

What do you want out of it?

If it were me.......Villex, for nice organic, passive/yet modern tones.

I have an ash bodied maple neck jazz style with EMG jv's that sound really clean, crunchy, super jazz!

I've seen a lot of good things said about Nordstrand pickups, but I'd be interested in hearing more about Villex.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with some kind of single coil.

  10. Are you going with the wooden bridge? It really looks cool IMO

I really wish i could get my hands on Cliffs stuff...it looks awsome.

I'm going to go with a Hipshot. My other CB has a Bubinga bridge with Cocobolo saddles and Aero dual coils.
This time I wanted to switch it up by going with a traditional bridge and single coils.

I love the looks of his basses...how do they play? Prices are rediculously reasonable...

The CB That I have is the most comfortable bass I have ever picked up. The neck is so smooth and easy to play and the thing is amazing sounding. :D
I saw another thread about the best bass for the money and CB is the front runner in my book. It's like getting 60% off a $5000.00 bass.

Funny you should say that, because he is putting the Nordstrand FatStacks in this bass.
Here is a picture of the purpleheart pickup covers, they have
the thumb area carved out to fit the shape of your thumb.
