My poor daughter!!! š

Prayin for you and your daughter. Also being a father, my heart breaks for you. Not that this is the cause, but being a teenager is such a big part of our lives considering it's such a short period in the grand scheme of things. I wish I could go back and tell myself just how quickly that all passes. It always seems like an eternity at the time.
"Lord, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
We can't change the fact that there will always be bullies and awful people in the world. There are other things we can't change, regardless of what we're told by "popular" opinion. It'd be wonderful if that quote was a more common mantra. Life is beautiful, but it can be awful at times. We just need the strength to understand that and get through the awful times. Sometimes we need help finding that amount of strength. Help is always available, if we look in the right directions.
I hope she's able to get some good out of counseling, in or outpatient. Not to get religious - My prayers are with you both.
Lance, I hate hearing this and my heart goes out to you. I have two daughters, and my younger who is a high school senior battles anxiety and self-doubt. Huge challenge for us but larger for her.
I'm glad your daughter has help that isn't you. As parents nobody loves our kids more than us, but sometimes a third party provides objectivity and credibility that is helpful.

So very sad to hear that. She's clearly got a good Dad, so that's a good start to recovery. Stay strong, mate. All the best to you and yours.
Good luck. It sounds like you and your family are doing the right thing by seeking professional help/meds.

Very sorry to hear this. I have two bipolar nieces, both sadly children of different bipolar parents, and have seen the impact on their entire families.

Sending mojo as someone with a daughter going through some MH issues right now. It's tough and I would walk through hell for her.
I sincerely hope she finds her way. I was that age once of course, and it can be a very confusing and stressful time. Being a kid is harder than being an adult sometimesā¦ We are hardly as equipped to deal with lifeā¦ I pray she finds the connection and support she needs.
This is true for my daughter and I right now also. You are not alone. I would walk through hell for our girl too.
Hang in there and trust the process. It may be hard to realize, but she is probably in the best place for her at the moment. I had to go through this with my son and it does get better.

Hoping they find an adolescent bed for her soon, the ER looked unhelpful when I visited her this morning.

I was a very sick drug addict at her age and of course it got worse before I got clean. She's a lot like me. She doesn't drink or use drugs. She's got nothing to take the pain away

Went through the same thing with my daughter at that age. She spent a couple of weeks in a psych ward after cutting herself. Not a suicide attempt but self harm. They put her on meds and it helped.
I don't know if it's a hormonal thing for teenage girls but my daughter just kind of grew out of it. Still has some social anxiety but nowhere near as bad as it was.
Stay strong and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I h.ate GD bullies. Some kids and adults can be truly horrible. I'm so glad that there was no social media or anything when I was a teenager in the 1980's.
You're clearly a good dad and doing the right thing. I wish your daughter and your family peace.
