My poor daughter!!! 😔

Last night my 14 year old daughter went inpatient for psych eval. Too many threats of suicide and running away. Y heart is half dead.
She's such a good person! A small lifetime of being bullied and some abuse from her late grandma.
I just want to go back to sleep and not get up, but I have to take her twin brother to school and go to work.
F mental illness.
I pray they find the right combination of meds to calm her mind and spirit.
Crying.
This is a rabbit hole no one should ever have to go through.
:(

Lance, I am praying for you and your daughter! Certainly she needs you and the peace and strength you can provide as a father. Bullying is evil incarnate. I am not sure where you are with your faith, but there are miracles to be had if you can get her and yourself in a good church and counseling program. I am not one to believe drugs are the answer. If it were me I would be looking for a Christian counselor, and ways to get her a change of friends. May God bless you and your family!

FWIW I'm a recent graduate of a partial hospitalization program and one thing that I realized is that if I had been in a program like that when I was 14 I might have saved myself a lot of hardship in the intervening 20 years.

I know it's hard to hear that a person you love is suffering, but you can't take it away. All you can do is support them as they learn to live with it. And maybe one day they'll be able to live without it.

I really like this post and agree with you. Were a faithful Catholic family. I'm truly happiest on the dais singing my brains out for my creator.
We've brought this to Him many times over the past year. God works in God's time in God's way.
I truly believe in meeting God with science, I don't want my daughter to kill herself over serotonin gaps which we can modify through re-uptake inhibitors.

Prince died because a tenet of his faith spoke against blood transfusion.

We won't know how The Father or The Son truly feel about certain things until we meet them. I'm truly a fan of Pascals Wager-my faith is strong, but if I'm wrong and I face the permanent dirt nap I'm ok with that as well. Pascal taught us that we have nothing to lose being people of true faith.
I'm going to listen to what the psychiatrist recommends.

My son has/is dealing with this. He committed himself for a week a couple years ago. (He just turned 22). He also had a couple seizures, so he's on a combination of meds now.

Finding the right combination of meds and counciling/talk therapy is a long process, but he's making real progress. Your daughter can too!

I'm praying for your family Lance.

My point is people can live for decades using pain killlers and some like my mother had to while she was alive. She didn't abuse them but they did give her some semblance of a life since the pain she experienced wasn't as unbearable as it would have been without them. Prince died because he has terrible doctors that were buying him painkillers off the street because he didn't manage his use of them. He took them like you would expect a "rock star" to take medication, whenever he damn well wanted. Hence his addiction, hence his death... NOT due to his love of any particular deity's "rules and regulations", he didn't manage his pain properly and suffered for it. Sure, he wouldn't have had to take the meds if had the transfusion but it wasn't THAT which killed him, let's be clear since painkillers make people ABLE to live life if managed properly, like my mother did. Hot topic for me...

I just want to say that I went through similar with my daughter, but she got through it and is now doing well at age 30.

It was gutwrenching to go through as a parent watching my once carefree child become a mess as a teenager, where nothing I tried seemed to help.

Except that perseverance paid off. It took about ten years of hard work on everyone's part, but eventually she got her life together and is now doung well, although far from great.

There's no quick fix. My thoughts and best wishes are with you and your daughter. The best to you!

I do post things accurately. I read that he overdosed on prescribed meds due to great pain due to his religions restrictions on surgery/transfusions. I find your post hostile and accusatory. Have a nice day! Hugs, brother.
It's definitely an irritable one because right before you posted what I replied to, you were suggesting that people were winging and whining in another thread about someone going fender-less when they weren't AT ALL which was in the very least accusatory and being a TROLL so maybe practice what you preach? Could you try to be a bit more accurate with what you are posting since things like life and death are emotionally charged and you should present accurate info instead of confirmation bias.

Sorry about your daughter and her situation btw, I hope it works out.

Oh btw I explained what I meant further underneath my original reply to you, dunno if you caught that but it details why I was a bit irritated with your assertion he died because of his beliefs. Came across as pure confirmation bias and made me feel like you weren't really honing in on his actual problem which was drug addiction.

I feel sad to read that you and your daughter are going through this. Sending prayers for you all. Our older daughter attempted suicide and was hospitalized at age 15. It was not something I would wish on anyone. She recovered and has done really well for herself - nearly 40 and doing great.
Wishing you and her less pain and good outcomes.

Please leave my thread, do the right thing. If you think I trolled your fender thread either report me or ask me nicely to not share my unadulterated opinions on FMIC products (in those threads tho). What you're doing here is retaliation for my post in another thread and it's abhorrent behavior. My family is in crisis so man up, or leave.
