My Mexican Fender Jazz Bass is acting up latley. The seccond nob (the middle nob) that usually turned off my sound completley no longer does that but isntead quiets things down a bit and then I have to turn down the other pickup nob to turn off the sound. Also, before this mishap when I pushed the strings onto the pickup there would be no noise, but now there is the string/pickup noise. I dont know if my pickups are ****ing up, or what. Also sound seems to be more muted. Any idea whats up? Thanks
Sorry to temporarly hijack the thread, but I think that MIM jazz bass's are extremely fun to MOD, back to the thread......
)Another sad, sad story about a mexican bass, when will we rise up against this un-holliest of the holy bass makers and put an end to this debacle which we call bassism(bassism ? As the owner of Fender japan always say's "buy my basses, they much better" .No biggie dude change the pots in your bass, they are only a few bucks apiece and if you cant do it,have your tech do it for you,and consider it a needed up-grade for the stock ones be rubbish.
Take it to a luthier and see what the guy says, take an estimate for the job, if it's more than 200$, just sell that pos and get a better bass. That's what I'm doing. Good luck.
