It rocks! I bought a 86 Spector Neptune (Kramer) passive for $200.00. It had passive P/J pups. Well I yanked them things out and put in the EMG P/J pups and the BQC pre. Now it sounds better than my Rebop! I am strongly considering doing it now to my Rebop 5. The BQC with mid sweep or any mid EQ I think is what is missing with the stock Spector Pre amps. It really made a diffence in the presence of my tone compared to the stock EMG HZ Spector preamp configuration. If I just replaced the Pre amp and kept the HZ pups it still would make a noticable differance.
