  1. i have a fender deluxe active jazz 5 and have had it for about 3 months. i dont know why, but i'm just now realizing that the pickups are a little muddy sounding. my thought is that if i get bright sounding strings, this will offset the muddiness a little. and i right? and the same thing the other way around with trebly sounds and getting darker strings??
that asid, if i am right, what kind of strings should i get? i have dr low riders on it now, i thought these were bright, but they really arent on this bass. and on my other bass that is trebly i have prisms. they are very bright. would the prisms be a good choice to solve my muddy problem?
what would be good strings for the trebly sounding bass?(its a yamaha bbg4).
    anything will help, thanks
