Anyone know how to unlock a thread? I think I may have accidentally locked my thread about my stolen bass. I have sent 3 messages to Mods...and haven't received any messages from them regarding a violation or anything. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a thread tool that I accidentally hit? Thoughts? Ideas?

    Here is the thread;

  2. Nope, I have no idea how to do that. I hope it gets resolved, I've followed your thread hoping you get your bass back. Good luck with re-opening your thread and re-possessing your MM!

Wondered about that myself. Maybe it's being reviewed cause of the activity? If you fat-fingered the wrong button, I'd guess the mods have a way to undo that. At least I hope so. In any event KEEP EATING TACOS!!!

Very weird! Is there a 'lock' function on a thread that the OP has access to?

Only in the classifieds to my knowledge.

I think you need moderator rights or something like that to lock a thread.

Maybe someone complained about the thread for some unexplicable reason or a moderator felt it had gone on too long or gotten too OT.

Maybe locked because it went so far off topic?

It's not off topic, there's just some on hold music while we're waiting for the conclusion. :)

One would think they would tell you why they did it, if they in fact did lock it...

I tried to post to it just now and it said it had been "closed". I know in the classifieds, an OP can do this. I also know the mods can undo this action. I assume they will fix this for you and look forward to seeing pictures of the reunification party with your bass.

Maybe the thread was reported by a doughnut shop.

Wouldn't they send a message or post on the thread something to that effect?

I think it depends. I've had threads locked or deleted which was usually followed by a warning because I really screwed up.

We used to be able to delete our own threads, when they got out of hand with flaming etc.
I wish we could still have that function.
I was in a mood a few days ago and a TBer dissed me, and I got all annoyed.
So you know, I suffer clinical depression and his response set me off.
The rest of the responses were 40/60 in my favour, and I would have just liked to delete the whole thread and get on with my life.

I just find it inconceivable that I could donate to this site year after year and have a fun, lighthearted, account of eating tacos while waiting for 'the man' to give me my bass back shut down without explanation. I also cannot conceive of a legitimate reason why those of us interacting on that thread would no longer be able to do so.

This is why I think something weird must have happened...a mistake...or a glitch..

Maybe we were just having too much fun.

If anyone in charge is reading this I vote for reopening the thread; for once it's a positive thread with a great story, without bickering and we need to let it run to the happy conclusion where the bass is returned to the owner.
