    My Ibanez SRX700.

I'm not much of a player yet, but this bass has some serious THUMP.

    ooooooooo... nice!

how is this bass? it caught my eye right off the wall at GC. i didn't spend too much time with it, but i liked it from what i got so far. i have to make a decision between this, a Fender Deluxe(most likey jazz), and maybe a couple other. i hope to go to GC again for the next 2 Fridays and test some more basses.

Now if it didn't have the dinky Soundgear body shape I'd be all over it. :/

Are the new Ibanez humbuckers really that hot?

I like it a lot. With the EQ, I can dial up many tones, from Rock to Jazz and back to Metal or Funk. The action was set of perfectly when I bought it, and the neck is "slim" compared to the Fender J.

I had an SRX300, and it was OK, but I traded up for the 700, and it is a fine instrument. A bit on the heavy side, but it balances very well.

The pickups are HUGE Alnicos, and they are great.

Don't make the mistake of labeling this bass as a METAL ONLY bass. It is not.

Respected bass player Carol Kaye plays one:

This particular shape looks better in wood than solid colors, IMHO.

I consider this bass a real "keeper".

I'm getting a Fender Foto Flame P this weekend. It will be interesting to compare the two.
