Some of you might have heard me talk about this body in the other Warmoth thread. So, I thought I'd toss up a picture here for you all to see it. I'm very happy and now can't wait for the Moses neck to arrive that will be mated to this body.

You are the first person i have heard of getting a hollow J bass. For the last few days i have been thinking of a project with a hollow Jazz bass. I would love to know how well it balance with the neck. How long did the ordering take. Good Luck:)

The official word is that it takes 2 weeks to build the body and 4 weeks to do the finish. Mine unfortunately took longer. Warmoth isn't sure why but they were very apologetic about it.

I can't wait to get the whole thing together. Unfortunately, the Moses neck is taking longer to receive. The Moses neck is on back order and I don't have word yet as to when it will be delivered.

I like hollow bodies in general and I'm hoping that this one sounds as nice as it looks. The mahogany should give it a nice warm tone.

The electronics will definitely change over time because I've blown my budget. I have a Bartolini MME which is a triple coil on order to put in the bridge position. I'm going to put a Bill Lawrence J45 pickup in the neck spot since I have one of those in my drawer of spares. Besides, I like the Bill Lawrence pups.

For the moment everything will be passive, but down the road I may add a preamp. If I do it will mostly be for buffering the two different styles of pickups.

Yea, I looking forward to hearing this put together as well. I spent alot of time emailing back and forth with Jack Read before finally deciding on this configuration.

BTW, Jack Read has got to be one of the nicest bass builders on the planet. He was very helpful.

:D I'm sure Warmoth would be happy to make another. :D

It is funny, because I thought I'd never buy new parts to build a bass, but this is fun.
