I needed a starter bass and I only had about $120 to spend. I couldn't afford the Essex LPB Jazz Bass that I wanted so I found this washburn being blown out (74% off list) at Musician's Friend for $99. It's pretty decent. Not the best, but playable. The fret ends are a little sharp and the pickups are just "ok". FOr the money I paid it will work until I can afford to step up to a better one. I'll post some actual pics this week. The photoflame top is not my top choice in finish...but it don't look too bad from 10 feet away.
it might be easier to just upgrade it bit by bit, which spreads the cost of buying a new bass and is also more versatile. Until then, good luck
It plays failry well. No buzzes and I likethe way ti plays. Someday I might get a Select by EMG P-J set for $45 and a badass bridge....
