i recently (as in its in my lap right now) took apart a p bass copy to discover that someone soldered a ground wire on to the wire that connects the two pickups. does anyone know if this is useful or if i don't have to hook it up (none of the wires were hooked up to the pots, so i was going off standard p bass wiring diagrams) so yeah, i don't know where to put it. i also have the wire coming from the bridge but i know where that goes. this bass looks like it had that wire on the tone pot. does anyone know why it would be set up like this, and if i should just put it back to standard P bass wiring? pictures included

  2. Well, I don't know about a second ground wire but I can tell you from looking at the pic of the back of the pup that you don't have both leads soldered to the pup on the left. That will stop you dead for sure.
