I have its fretted twin in natural, I'd guess Hohner. Mine is also without logo.

It really is quite impressive how quickly these kinds of questions get answered.

    Wow. That was fast!
I saw that it is only a partially fretted neck.
    That is bizarre!

    Thanks guys!

Partial? The fingerboard looks like Jaco style... Fret lines but no frets.

I think it's partial fret lines, no frets. The lines don't go all the way across...

Looks kinda like the HB Black Widows I've seen in the past.

  12. There's a burny Hohner similar to that in my local pawn shop. They want $400 Canadian but the neck is bowed enough that you can shoot an arrow. It's been there for several months.

    Yep. Black Widow, Hohner, Bartell...

I asked the same question (on another forum) a couple months ago, asking for help id'ing a bass being played by T. Michael Coleman, and someone posted this link: Bartell Guitars and Basses :: # 1197 Hohner bass

I am beginning to think it may be one of the Mothman’s innumerable spawn sent to vex an unsuspecting world.

More seriously, right when you thought you’ve seen it all, along comes a bass like this. Awesome!

There’s even a fan site! Who knew?

It looks as if there are frets that are countersunk into the neck maybe?

Those are fret marking lines, not actual frets.

You can see them better here:
