Just nabbed a Carvin B1500 off craigslist after it sat there for a month at $325. I have been using the Gallien MB 800 Fusion for about 6 months and with an increase in gigs lately I felt like having a backup amp. Requirements were decent sound decent power capability and LOW $$$. The now "outdated" heavier hybrid bass heads fall right into my qualifications. I kept my expectations low, just wanting something I wouldn't feel nervous about possibly leaving at a rehearsal space or getting shared by other bands at a show. Couldn't have asked for a better combination than the Carvin B1500. Even better the thing sounds pretty darn good!
I am excited for a new twist on my sound and am excited to bring it to my New Years show. 35 lb, 3U tall but very shallow in depth makes for a pretty easy carry. Somehow seems easier and less bulky than my previous WT800 in a soft road case.

Next stop: my woodshop to build a compact road case for it.

If you ever make it to NYC, I'd be happy to sell you my unused SKB 3-space shallow X-rack. It's a perfect fit for the B1500...and lighter than any wood case.

I'll be placing this on top of my two 15" cabs which should be exciting. I am liking the clarity in the sound of this amp, just at practice volume I felt I could really hear the natural voice of my jazz bass . I am interested in the x case but would probably want to have it shipped.
