While out shopping for my girlfriend for her birthday, I walked into GC.

Walked out with this baby! Made in 2010 and looks mint in every way! I had to haggle the GC guys because they priced it way to high. I traded in a few unused pedals as well.

It was definitely priced waaaay too high! I had my eye on that one for 5 months on the GC website. What did you get it for?

At one point it sat at a GRAND for a few months

Yes, I think the original price was like $900-ish. They just dropped the price to $809 over the past couple of days. I figured they were ready to move it. I got it for like $700.

You'll love it! The head case is nice too!

As an aside, the "Scout" is the combo.... or to be even more technical, the cab that the head fits in or an extension. The "Walkabout" is the head.

I have a 15" Scout combo and matching extension. It sounds ridiculously good.

That's great! Is that the price with the pedals? I messaged that store twice to inquire about making an offer and they never got back to me. I have a newer one in the headcase as well now.

Is that fan the silent x upgrade?

I’m not sure about the upgrade. It is not noticeable as I would have thought for an older amp. I can say for sure that this fan is more quite than my WD800.

Nice snag at that price. I got tired of looking at that one everyday hoping they would come to their senses and bring the price down to earth. And you always have the option to slide your WD in there if you want.

great score on a truly great amp. Hope you enjoy it.
I am very happy with my WD800 but my Walkabout (v2, also in a headcase) is not going anywhere. One of the best sounding amps I ever had the pleasure to play through.

May I inquire what that platform is under your cabs? Does it have wheels?

After I don't know how many years, my Walkabout Scout 12" is the only original piece of gear that I still have (old silver face model) that I will never sell. It's the bench mark bass sound in my head that I have always had and it's never let me down, ever. Congrats on that awesome nab there and enjoy!

Wait...does this mean I could put a WD800 into the Scout encasement?

  17. Another fan of the WA Scout here! Congrats!

Affirmative. But be careful not to crank up the WD.

If you got a blackface and the headcase, I'd say that is a good deal.
Although they have moved on to the Subway, the headcase alone is pretty pricey.
I have a silver face in the bronco head case. It adds weight, but looks a lot nicer.
