New (old) Marshall 3520 200w SS and Marshall 1515 250w 15" ported cab. Circa 1980s.

Just bought from classifieds tonight for AUD$150 (about USD$100). Apart from the tolex showing 30-odd years of hard wear and one scratchy pot, all seems fit for purpose.

Fun fact: The bass player from the Road House movie is using this head with two Marshall 410 cabs.

Nice. It now has a nickname and a catchphrase to use everytime I run through it...

Didn't read, just looked at the pic and said "aid eeeeeeeeeees!"

Now that you've had it a minute, how's it sound in the mix?

I scrubbed it up a bit and taped over the tattered tolex, so I guess it's now in "remission".

I opened it up and gave it a spruce, too. It was all pretty clean and tidy inside, considering it's age. The scratchy pot now isn't scratchy anymore.

The sound is pretty much what I expected and wanted...just a clean, fairly nondescript solid state sound with the EQ controls at neutral.

I grabbed it primarily because I wanted something cheap and neutral to run an Ampeg SCR-DI through (yet to be purchased, but that's another story) as a practice/jam rig when the large/heavy/loud/expensive SVT-4/810 one isn't practical.

Well, I'm not that fond of it...
