I just picked up a cheap monitor amp from MF for the PA, a Nady XA-900, for an ungodly cheap price. Now, what is wrong with it? From searches I have come to the conclusion that Nady is to be avoided. Why wouldn't I want to power a bass rig with it? Is it a reliability issue? Bad sound?

Reliability issues I've heard. They're cheaply made with cheap components. No idea about the sound though. :meh: But I think with power amps you can't go any cheaper than the QSC RMX series before you start sacrificing quality for cost.

I bought one in a pinch and it had thermal shut-down issues when pushed slightly... the sound is not good IMO. Nady power-amps are the lower end Ibanez active electronics of the power-amp world: Clunky, artificial, and plastic sounding with zilch in the headroom department.

My advice to anyone else thinking of buying one: Stay away and save some more money up for QSC RMX or something similar... you'll save money by not wasting it in the first place. :spit:
