I have just the beginning of a song in my head and very little to go on but it's driving me crazy. It's a soul/R&B tune, probably from the 60s or early 70s. It's in a slow 6/8. The only melodic fragment I have in my head is this horn part that happens at the beginning before any singing starts. I believe the horn figure is a mM7 chord arpeggiated downward from the root but skipping the 7th after the root: C-G-Eb-B The rhythm of the figure is starting on beat two of the bar, or on the fourth 8th note. The C and G are 16th notes, the Eb is an 8th and the B is an 8th tied to what is probably a dotted half note spanning the rest of the next bar. I know it's not much to go on but I figured there might be someone here who just knows it from hearing that figure. Help!
