I always wanted a Fender P-bass or J with with bottom routing and no pickguard, well I cam across one about 4 months ago and picked it up.

I am looking for more info on the bass. It has Schaller designed on the tuners. The bridge has a higher mass than the regular bendy Fender bridges and it has grooves for the saddles similiar to the Gotohs, though this is not a beefy as a Gotoh.(maybe an aftermarket of some sort) Also the knobs feel very high quality, and are metal, much much better quality than present day Fender knobs (including MIA) and better knurling on the knobs.

Through some searches on the serial number its suggest it was made in Korea in 1993.

It has some nick and slight battlescars but plays very nice. This particuliar model is much better build than most if not all of the MIM I have come across.

Can anyone shed some light on this and tell me what is speacial about thois model.

Looks like an 80's Model possibly Japan made, if not then Korean.
The bridge is the old american vintage bridge with the nickel, multi
grooved saddles. I like it! It has a nice clean look to it. How's it sound?

I cant compare it to a MIJ (never owned one) but it is a very solid bass with quailty components.

Since It has some age and I got it used Im not sure how to compare it to my 1998 MIA but it better than a MIM for sure.

The thing with my MIA is that it has a GREAT setup this one need some setup and it would be better. Its definately a keeper.
