Crikey! That inlay work alone is worth $1500! I wonder who made it?

It looks Ok i guess, i would invest my money somewhere else.
The bass on craigslist looks very nice however with these custom instruments you can never really seem to modify them because of the way they are made. My guess is he is selling because he was not completely satisfied with the sound and was hard to modify with new pickups or electronics?

No, he's probably selling it because they don't balance well, come with cheap no-name electronics, are poorly constructed, look absurd with all the inlay work, and probably require a refinish & fret level (if not a re-fret).

If memory serves, they also sell/sold for about $600 on eBay (stock w/ 7-strings, it's not a custom at all), so he's probably hoping to sell it for a considerable profit to some unsuspecting person.

  10. Bob. I'd call it Bob.
I like these basses, but I like velvet Elvis paintings & blacklight posters.

Haha. JC Takes pictures of all of his basses like that. I do believe that he puts something down underneath it for protection.

They are made in Taiwan or Vietnam with pretty inlays and wood but usually crappy electronics and hardware.....like a nice coffee table book....hang it up as art! My buddy bought a couple of similar guitars and a mandolin and they played and sounded so-so but looked pretty!

Oopppsss! Missed the first pictures....that bass looks a lot nicer, except thr truss rod holes.
