Recently I purchased a Nash P (2010) as well as most of the parts of a 2016 Nash P that a fellow TB’er kindly sold to me. I bought the parts to create what I have wanted for a long time - a 1966 Fender P with the target sunburst. Since I’m not shelling out 5K for a real one, I used the Nash basses to create what I wanted. The older Nash had a more aged and visually correct neck (and Fender logo), so I mated the 2010 neck to the 2016 body. Have a Spitfire guard on the way so project is almost complete. ANYWAY...I have a 2010 body with the 2016 Nash neck put together that is equally as cool! Really cool Sonic Blue nitro that has a sweet green tint, Lollar pickup, Kelling wireless harness, Nash reliced mint, Nash rosewood neck with light weight tuners. Really resonant and sounds awesome with the Lollar and well broken in LaBella 760FS strings. Two saddles are newer, but the rest is all Nash except for the harness. This was going to be my backup or bass when I feel like not playing a sunburst bass , but I think I might want a Jazz for my backup. Maybe. Not desperate to sell, so this is just a feeler since I’m always looking for the next project. Includes HSC $1125 shipped! WILL PART OUT THE LOADED BODY AND NECK
What is the body wood and weight of bass. Is the neck biscuit, quartersawn or something different? Thanks
Hi, can I see a picture of the back of the headstock. Thank you. Any dead spots appear on the neck when you joined the 2010 and the 2016 parts? Regards, Ed
I can take additional pics for you and post them. No noticeable dead spots or issues switching the necks.
Yes. The body is from a complete 2010 Nash P that I took the neck from. The neck came from a 2016 Nash P that I bought 98% of the parts of. The seller was gonna do a refinish and I bought it all of it. I put it back together and had both for a bit before I built the sunburst one with the 2010 neck and a couple of the saddles. Here are some pics of both basses and the finished sunburst bass I built:
I also have an older vintage style HSC (that came with the 2010 Nash) or a newer Fender American Original P case that will go with the bass. Whatever the buyer wants
Very nice. I guess what I meant was not what year the parts were made, but whether they came from a PB57 or PB63.
Beautiful bass. I love my 2 Nash Jazz basses. Was toying with the idea of adding this one, but I’ve never really been a P bass player and not sure I play enough anyway to have 3 basses in rotation. We’d be color buddies though.
Unlike wives, there is no limit on Nash basses. I have three and #4 is out there, somewhere, looking for a home!
