One of the last batch of two-tones. I committed to this one-owner bass back in March, just hours before Chicago shut down. It was a struggle to come up with the cash after all the gig money dried up, but I got close enough that Heith at Rock'n'Roll Vintage offered to let me trade for the balance, which was really nice of him. Three guitars that were on my "sell" list and, finally, the P is mine! The bass's only owner was a chain smoker, so there's a darker tint to the maple now, but the smell is almost completely gone, and the sound of this thing is just tremendous. I've played a lot of vintage Fenders, and many of them aren't any better than a modern one, but this one is magical, one of the three best Ps I have ever played. Now if we could just get Covid under control, I would love to get this into a live gig setting.
