So on Wednesday I scored this beautiful beast of a 1989 Korean made Squier Pbass with the frets ripped out and poorly filled, for the low low price of free! After an acetone bath, a new wiring harness I had laying around, new pick guard screws,new strap buttons I also had laying around, and a used set of strings it looks much better, and plays and sounds great! Posting before pictures now will post after pictures this evening! {} {} {}
Congrats! (I think) Looks like that thing slid into home plate a number of times. Awaitng the upgrades.
Here she is all cleaned up! She definitely has a few nasty gouges and countless scratches but also has tons of mojo and a mean mwah! {} {} {}
I think my YoungChang jazz may be from the same factory (same year). Too bad yours doesn't have the frets left, cause from the look of them we could have known for sure. They are super-super-jumbos.
My S9 (Samick Made) 1989 MIK Precision. It has a plywood body & even though I don't use it now, it had a nice feeling neck.
So I went ahead and removed the crappy wood filler lines, filled in all the chip outs, re-radiused the fret board, refretted(my first refret), leveled and dressed, and don’t she look perty! I’m gonna replace the crappy wiring harness and pots with some CTS pots and a new cap! {} {}
