So I have not really been actively searching for one, but snagged this beautiful beast. I always said to myself that if I wish I could find a Natural 2-band and finally did last week. I am trying to adjust(as we speak) to the sound and lack of the neck pickup so we shall see.. I have to say that it sounds pretty fat and punchy so far..Time to get get my Paul Denman/Bernard Edwards hat on! What do you guys think?

One of my favorite color combos and one of my favorite basses. My 78' is the same natural/maple...

  3. Congratulations! For some reason, I've always preferred two-bands. This is a bass you can enjoy for a lifetime.

Sweet acquisition, @FishDub! Enjoy it, brother! You have a neck pickup... it's just closer to the bridge...

Unless the 3 band has a sweepable mid frequency, I agree. 3 band can really make a mess out of your mix.

Awesome! I sought out a two band when I was looking for a ray, but yours is prettier than mine

Actually, the 1976-79 Rays were on my GAS list but figured this is essentially the same..If I end up really liking it then it will be time for the Pre-eb..:)
