I got a good price, and it plays and sounds great. No significant scratches or dings.... but man, it’s filthy. I’m pretty sure the former owner sweats raw sewage.

Time to put the hazmat suit on....

    Good golly, that's filthy!
Super cool bass though. You'll love it once you get it cleaned up.
    Congrats!

Time for the naptha, and a lot of clean cotton rags...
    Congrats.

On "Dave's World of Fun Stuff" he calls it, "DNA Removal."

    DNA removal indeed !

I’m not one to keep my basses spotless ... they get played a LOT. But this thing is just gross ...

You're a trooper. I wouldn't have touched it with a ten foot pole. Did you at least run through decon after playing it?

Honestly, I only played it for long enough to verify it worked and played properly. Then I washed my hands.

Defunked, frets polished, bridge and pickup cleaned as much as possible (without getting silly), neck brought down to satin, and new strings ....
