I was recently looking for a cheapo 5 string backup for my Ibanez SR, and came across one of these: an Eagle five string active/passive bass with push-pull knob. I really like the looks of it, no idea what the wood is but it surely has a nice grain, which shows off well, and it's obiviously stained.

The neck is decent, a bit chunky but I don't mind. The finish on both the body and neck is high gloss, but I don't mind about this either, I've had other basses with that same finish and I like it, as well as satin ones.

Not crazy on the sound though. The output is a little low when in passive mode, and when in active it makes a very annoying buzz (it doesn't have shielding, but neither do my other basses and don't make any noise at all), maybe it has to do with the active/passive function and the single coil pickups, more knowledgeable posters might care to tell me what it is exactly. I'll get it checked tomorrow.

I'll have to throw some new strings very soon as the stock ones are crap, as usual. It has some interesting tones, and the bridge pickup has tons of growl and "burpiness" to it since it's so close to the bridge.

It balances well, zero neck dive, and not too heavy, not too light. Anyway, here are the pics:
