I was shocked when I told my wife that I wanted to buy a $1200 bass and she said "Get it!" I just got it today in Charcoal Frost, my first "new" bass ever. I took a chance ordering online but I lucked up and they sent me a beauty weighing exactly 8.0lbs! the neck feels like butter. I just had to tell someone!

Gorgeous and ummm ummmm love me some case candy.
  3. I really like the color. If it were mine, I'd put a black pickguard on.

Such a great color and a bass you will always be able to find a use for. I love the maple neck! Congrats!
  6. So close to Christmas? Give your wife a big hug and an even bigger diamond! :D

    Such a nice bass. Congrats!

My wife has also been very supportive of me playing music. Several years ago she bought me a Sennheiser wireless for my birthday. Last year she bought me a new MIA Fender Jazz Deluxe for Valentine's Day. This year for my birthday she bought me a set of Lindy Fralin Jazz Bass pickups and she just bought me an early Christmas present, an Ampeg BA500 combo amp to use at my band's rehearsal studio.

Very nice indeed. I got one last month too. I like your color but for me it had to be Olympic white with a tort guard.

Those Fender straps are pretty good BTW. No neck dive at all.

+1 to the black-on-black color scheme. I've got a black maple-necked Sadowsky with a three layer black-white-black pickguard, and it looks trick, IMO.

Changing out the pickguard is an inexpensive and fun way to freshen the look, some time down the road. Meanwhile, enjoy the new bass, OP! It looks great just as it is.

It's great when your SO digs you playing music.

I'm fortunate that way, too. I brought home the CD my bar band did, to market us for gigs. She put it on the player, and started dancing to it.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout, yeah...
  16. Great story!

I just got a 2008 American P. Would LOVE another… Give your wife a kiss for being such an awesome partner!;)

Thanks for all the stories and comments but there is bad news in Bassland. It seems like my tone control is not working, it doesn't seem to change the sound at all.

Great looking bass. If you're in love with it, have the tone pot fixed.
