Found this one for 100 euros (113 USD) used, in mint condition, alongside a proel gigbag and no brand cable. The 30" neck feels really good, and 6lbs total weight feels quite amazing, too! Best thing, it balances perfectly. The tone leaves something to be desired, but I think it's mostly the strings, which seem to be stock except for the E string (which sounds the best, and is the only one that was replaced), I plan to put higher tension strings on this one to make it roar.
The neck actually seems to play great, no sharp frets, they all seem to be leveled decently (which is crazy at this price point, I expected to have to level them). The tuners seem solid, except their ratio is out of whack, a tiny nudge goes way too far. Otherwise, they hold tuning. It's a rather thin neck, and is glossy, but I plan to sand it down to satin, or maybe sand it down completely and finish it with oil.
This reminds me a lot of my Dean Edge 09M but it (they) are long scale. I bought them to experiment/modify. All 3 were under $100. One from eBay, one from GC one from SA. MIC, MII, MIK I might just have to try to find a Cort Action Junior to try out! Imagine that...G.A.S. for a used bass less than $100!
No wonder, it is a great bass, with a few upgrades (I would change out the tuners to something with a bigger ratio) it works great Perhaps to someone who plazs 12", but as someone who flattens out fingerboards to infinite radius, it does feel pretty round instead
Considering I am a jazz bass junkie, I've been thinking of putting jazz bass pickups around the original pickup, and adding another pot that controls both jazz pickups in parallel. Does anyone except me like this idea?
I have the Cort Action Junior in walnut too. It's a sweet little bass, very lightweight! Mine has a satin neck.
