Just had this delivered to Guitar Center Last Friday. Picked it up at lunch. Active with Dean J style pups which are on the hot side. Trans Black. Neck is really nice, no sharp ends, narrow, thin and satin back. Nice and fast. Nice. Yours has a squared off fret board. Just wondering what year and origin of manufacture yours is? Mine is a 2010 model year and MIC
I was considering the blue one, would've given it the smoked-mirror pickguard treatment, but I'm still waiting for a Motto. Hats off to Guitar Center...you scored!
Yes, then again, I've bought 30 basses in the last 5 years or so and I've only kept 4. This is from 2014.
Oh, no, I'm the one who's batty. Out of those 30 basses I can't remember a bad one. Some weren't bass perfection like the ones I own now, but some of them were very good indeed. I should've held onto my G&L SB-2, Inca Silver CV Jazz and the Motto, but I definitely had a problem with never being quite satisfied or always having to replace one bass with another. I've managed to get a handle on it, though, and now I only have this problem with women.
Hey that's my old bass!! I sold it years ago. I wonder whatever happened to it. It has the DMT upgraded pickups in it too...
Under $200 I'd buy it if I were you. I've always liked the necks on these things and with the right strings they sound pretty damned good.
Man, Deans seem to get ignored here and I never see one in person, but those Hillsboro j basses have always seemed killer to me. Love the black and tan. Score!
I like them! Obviously. I'd like this particular model more if it had a switch to go from Active to Passive. I could probably do that with a push pull volume pot. I'd just have to figure the wiring out for it.
