Thanks guys. After 30 years of owning factory basses - this is my first "boutique" bass. That's redwood burl over walnut over alder on the body, Pau Ferro (morano) fingerboard over a walnut neck. 35" scale on the B string gradually reducing to 32" on the G string with the fanned frets. Plays and sounds like a dream. It's Sheldon Dingwall's version of the iconic Fender Jazz bass. The equal string tension really makes a difference, especially on the D and G strings. They ring and sound wonderfully warm at the shorter lengths, and when you pop/hammer those two strings they sounds deliciously funky! I'll still play my conventional basses but having fun with this one for now.
I cannot find the words to describe how beautiful that instrument is.. It's definitely a perfect sum of quality, design, engineering, and application.. Very jealous!! .. I'll have an NG-2 one day..
