Arrived Saturday in the good old Penske truck.
Sounded pretty good with the stock D'Addarios but I never stay with the stock strings so I went with GHS tapewounds.
    Damned glad I did.
It's my first new USA-made bass and I'm betting it's money well spent.
At 7lb 3oz this is the ightest solid-body bass I've ever owned. I never really had any problem with heavy basses, but this thing sure isn't going to be hard to put down. I'll give it a 2-hour workout every day for the next four days and then it's definitely going to see some real action Friday night at the studio.

Welcome to the G&L club! That's a nice looking bass!

    Thanks.
    Already have a used USA-made SB 2.
Sold a L2000 Tribute two weeks ago and decided to upgrade.

NJ or Pa? I'll bet you live smack dab in the middle of the Whitman bridge. Great looking bass, though.

Used to live in Pa...apartment fire changed that.
    Black in Jersey temporarily.
I'm in Burlington, lead guitarist is in Milltown, drummer lives in Manville, lead singer/rhythm guitarist lives in Saylorsburg, Pa.
    Band rehearsal isn't easy!

Nice. I've never seen block markers on a G&L before.

I put them on but took them off.
I believe they were meant for a 5-string bass.
I have the proper ones arriving tommorow.
    They'll match the control knobs.

So G&L doesn't offer blocks as an option?

Actually yours is excellent, but it does get better than that! Namely I own 2 USA and one Tribute L2500.
I see you already have a G&L collection started so you know what I'm talking about! :)

I was considering a JB4, black with matching headstock, but I got lucky with this one.
