My first 5 string! I was really hesitant to get this since I have enough trouble playing a 4 string, but wanted to branch out a little and when I saw one of these at my local GC, I instantly fell in love with it. If I were to build a custom bass, this would be it... Ash body w/spaulted maple top, black chrome hardware, see thru black finish to appear dark gray, matching headstock. Enough blabbering, onto the pics... Box... Box within a box, not packed too securely though First time ever during an unboxing, my daughter's cat wants to check it out too... Nosy cat approves... And here she is... it looks kind of brown in the pics, but it is gray in person...weird...
Moar pics... Body closeup.. Full shot... Nice grain... Headstock... Again, looks brown in the pics, but it's gray in person...
Hi man this had to come (sooner or later ) Nice axe! Enjoy! Happy NBD Wise(b)ass edit: What's next? A fretless?
Congratulations on your NBD she’s a looker I played a similar LTD awhile back and was pleasantly surprised enjoy the new addition.
Nice! If you’re anything like me, you’re going to be addicted to that low B. Five years from now you’ll be posting about how you don’t play 4’s any more.
Congrats on your purchase! I first bought a fretless B204SM in natural satin finish and enjoyed it so much, I bought the same bass you're displaying here. You're right, btw, it's a smoky-ish charcoal gray hue, not in the brown spectrum AT ALL. This LTD line is in the heavyweight class, but with a good strap, and due to its nice balance, the weight isn't really much of an issue (for me). The pickups and eq, mated with a solid amp--mine is a Fender Rumble 500--make finding "my sound" a breeze...and with a Tech21 SansAmp it is a righteous beast of tone, vibe, and driving thump 'n grind! I use mine for jazz, rock, and styles in between, because it's one versatile axe.
Congratulations, a very nice bass you have there!! I have had mine for a few years now and it still remains my only 5er (except for an ABG) as I don't feel I need anything else! I though about getting a 6er in the charcoal colour you have, my 5 string is the natural finished SM
In this case, the cat is seeing a brand new box, not the bass. As soon as that bass is removed, I’m guessing kitty has moved in.
I'm not at home to weigh it right now, but it's on the heavier side... I would say 10+ pounds for sure. It's not too bad with a wide strap but after about 45 minutes.....yeah
