NBD- Fender Blue Flower ‘54 Tele Reissue

  1. ...
    New Bass Day!
Finally able to fill my ‘GAS’ tank with a long desired Fender CIJ Blue Flower ‘54 Reissue Telecaster Precision Bass.

This one dates from ‘93-‘94 and is basically in mint condition.

It didn’t come with the clear acrylic pickguard so I had to track down someone who had a template for a custom replacement as I discovered the holes don’t line up with any other Fender bass models.

A surprisingly difficult task, but many thanks go to TB member kodiakblair from across the pond in Falkirk, Scotland and his eBay contact, earlpilanz, for a perfect-fit replacement.

My only mod: I play 4-string basses w/a BEAD setup.

This one sounds AMAZING with my stable of vintage Acoustic Control Corp amps from the early ‘70s, too!

Specs listed below the pics... enjoy some retro Flower Power!

  4. A real beauty. I don't understand why Fender didn't/doesn't try other versions of this theme beyond the flower and paisley. Perhaps a plaid? Houndstooth?

(those splatter-paint ones don't count, before anyone answers with one of those uggos)
