We’re in Reno, Nevada because my youngest daughter is playing in a club volleyball tournament. I went by Bizarre Guitar and walked out with this today.

I’ll have to take some more/better pictures when we get home.

    Nice!
What does "lightweight ash" translate to in pounds and oz?

I gotta admit... Not usually a fan of sparkly pickguards or white pickup covers, but that thing looks damn good.

Love the color combo nod to that look back in the early 80s

    I've had J's that color, it's awesome.
Does it ring, have that "live" feel?
Try a set of Elixirs on it.

Just bought one , can not wait to try it out .
    They only made 300 worldwide
Looks like they just added strats and tele`s to the lightweight line up

I like the color, too. I thought it was kind of complimentary/a nice contrast to my other American.

This is my '14 Fender FSR American Special USA Nitro Satin Series Precision (Honey Burst).

I’m not sure how you define that “live” feel, but it feels really nice and I really like the way it sounds. I’m going to play it a little more and let it get settled in before I start tweaking on it. I like the neck. It has the same “Slim C” profile that my Honey Burst P has.

The setup that came on it from Fender was actually pretty good and was very close to how I usually set my basses up. I know that is how it came from the factory because the sales guy told me that it had just gotten in. I watched him cut the box open. He let me take it out of the case. I was the first person to touch it since it was packed up at the Fender factory.

On my basses that have rounds, I usually use DR Black Beauties. I have a brand new set that I picked up to try on it when I get ready to change out the strings. I was going to try rounds on this one. I have a set of flats on my Player Jazz..

    That’s cool!

I wondered how many they made in total? Where did you find that number?

    Thanks.

I had seen the 158 number on Sweetwater, but I hadn’t seen the 300.

That’s a perfect Jazz Bass IMO, especially if it sounds as great as it look. I’ve never seen any Fender in that color. That’s Gibson’s honeyburst.

That's very respectable for a stock J instrument.
These days I think of a guaranteed lower weight as almost always worth an upcharge.

For that kind of money I'd be looking for a used USA Lakland, but that's just me and shouldn't reflect on what looks like a very sweet instrument. Nice Score!

Just got one at our local shop. So light! Didn’t get to plug it in but sounded good unplugged and played great. Gave me a little jazz GAS.

Did you pay $1,800 for it or get it at a lower sale price or discount?
