WELL worth the wait. Perfect setup and almost in tune right out of the box. Very little learning curve for the fanned-fret board. VERY articulate, especially in the lowest notes. A VERY different, darker sound with the swamp ash body. Going to like this, I can tell. Okay, enough of my yammering - time for bass porn: Oh, no... it's a bleeding box: {} Soft - and that's an interesting word, this thing is built like a tank - bass case: {} Bass in case: {} On the couch: {} Seated: {} Carvin/Kiesel bass family 2017: {} {}
Considering all the problems they had - string ferrules, bridges, strings themselves - I believe mine might be the first off the production line, outside of the prototype.
I like Carvin. I like multiscale. I like that what passes for "binding" is a layer of wood and is inset from the edge. I like the color, wood and finish selection you went with. I like the fact that you still use a phone book. I'm not overly crazy about the fact that I am supposed to call Carvin "Kiesel" now.
Very cool! Congratulations on the new bass. I like that colour combo and I definitely like fanned frets. I hope you will post a more in-depth review after you have lived with it a while.
Congrats! Beautiful....How long was the wait? btw, Im also a Mets fan: Im still bummed how Syndegaard got pasted the other night
It isn't a phone book, actually. It's "Windows 10 For Dummies" - a book I have, fortunately, yet to open in the year-plus that I've owned it.
Very nice! I was so tempted, but I want a six string; I already have two 5 strings. I emailed and asked if a six would be coming out, but was told no. So I ended up getting a great deal on an LB76W, my first Carvin. They make some nice basses (but you already knew that). Good luck, enjoy it!
I have my first Keisel guitar due to be in this week, looks like you have other Keisel/Carvins, how do YOU rate their basses, on quality, playability & tone?
