My new G&L L2500 arrived from Fullerton and it's a beauty. These things play themselves and will punch you in the gut. Serious B string and in your face big tone. Decked out with flamed maple blackburst top over ash body. Ebony fingerboard with no dot markers. Body binding. Quartersawn light tint gloss neck and headstock. I had the factory skip the model number on the headstock. Single coil mode too. Did I say it sounds huge? Man oh man. I'm probably going to leave it in passive and parallel on the pups most of the time. Hardly needs the preamp as bass and treble pots work the same ok no active or passive. Man, Leo got it bright with his last creation.
That is a great looking bass. I haven't had the opportunity to play a G&L bass since I have never seen one in stores. I really really don't need any more basses but if I came across one that looked like yours I might not be able to resist. Rick B.
Rick, let me help you with that GAS. Got mine late last year, custom ordered white body & neck binding.
Is that an actual carved-top? Or does the flame and burst give that illusion? Sweet, man! If I had the scratch, I’d get a Kiloton 5 and a JB-5...together with my L2500 and call it a day!
It's not carved, just looks like it because of the flaming. It's really cool that you can see the flaming in the natural binding portion too.
That is a fantastic looking L2500. The smoked flame and natural binding easily makes this the nicest looking G&L L2xxx I have ever seen. Super nice!!!!!!
Wow, thats a nice lookin L2500. There's a green marble finish that was always my favorite, but this one may have replaced it. Gorgeous.
