Posted this in the G&L forum but thought I would share, since hopefully this extra string experiment works out! Happy NBD to me!
Well after 30 years of playing bass and never finding a 5 string that has wanted to come home with me they usually feel completely foreign from my jazz necked 4 strings. This G&L MJ-5 made its way home with me. Great feeling and playing bass. So today is 2 things that are firsts, I now own a 5 string and a G&L! ad4b3944-018f-41f5-8776-86ffb501df08-jpeg. 8b42b345-31c8-41ae-9a33-2d9a36b25e78-jpeg.

Had a bass just like that once. Killer color. Hard to beat a G&L.

  9. My first 5 was a G&L L5000. You've got a beautiful bass, enjoy it.

Why am I not surprised that the first 5 string that came home with you was a G&L? Great looking bass!

Gads! My main axe(s) are G&L L2500, but your NBD is giving me serious GAS to replace my Fender active JAzz V with a bass like yours. G&L 5er necks feel so much better to me than My Fender. TB is so enabling!:)

#truth on the neck. Most 5’ers felt so foreign and the spacing and neck width was always an issue. Just did find that the odd feeling was worth the extra notes. However been tottally pleased with the feel of this bass. Just feels more natural if that makes sense.

Thanks all for the compliments, have tried a few G&L basses over the years but this one finally made me open the wallet.
