New bass for me. After making 8 basses, I've decided to move to something else.

Here is my new bass. G&L JB-2 Tribute.

Tried it side by side with an american JB2 and enjoyed this one more.

Sound is very "geddy jazz bass" like.

Enough talking, here is the official I got a new bass pic :

Cool grain in the body. Congrats, these are very good basses! It would be interesting to see any pics you may have of your home-builds if you'd care to share.
  4. what's the pup positioning on these? Is it similar to 60's or 70's jazz?

Distance from 12th fret to neck pickup is 10 7/8" and 12th fret to bridge pickup 14 3/8".

There are 3.5 inches between pickups.

I don't know what year it corresponds to but these are measurements I made.

    I think it's 60's spacing, doesn't look like the 70's.

I really liked the SB2 I played a while ago, I would love to try one of these.

Ever since I got my L2000 triby I have fallen in love with G&L. I am eyeballing a American JB2 w/ white and maple and if I had not just moved into a new house and amounted alot of other expenses I would be more tempted than I am already. . . Nice bass!

Now that Fender prices are through the roof, G&L, both Tribute and USA are the best deals out there in four string "jazz" basses.

I don't know if I got a "miracle bass", but I tried mine side by side with an USA made JB-2 and like the Tribute's tone and feel better...:meh:
