After finding it for a great price and having just sold off some gear, I couldn't say no to my favourite bass. [/IMG]
DrImprobable - Sounds pretty much like a Jazz bass with a bit more balls to it. hdracer - I've been after one for a while and managed to get it for £800 brand new, including the Gibson hard case, which is a bargain over here. Webtroll - Surprisingly not, I'm a T-Bird guy mostly and they're boat anchors. I'm not sure of it's exact weight but it's not heavy at all (maybe I'm just used to my bird though)
that's a cool bass, i'd like to play one to see how the pickups differ from the originals. i have a 1977 RD Standard that has been my main bass for along time, but i'm actually trying to sell it now. it's a great bass, but just time for a change.
Thanks! I've been a Thunderbird guy for a while now and played a few RDs along the way so when I found it for such a good price I couldn't pass it up. I find it fits my body a little better than the 'birds.
Compared to the RD standard (which i foolishly let go) there isn't a huge difference, I think the Novoselic is a little more aggressive sounding and I think is a little lighter. Compared to the RD Artist there is obviously more of a difference due to the Moog circuit, I might try to borrow my mates for a little while to do a direct A/B comparison.
