While getting the gifts together for the grandkids, I unpackaged the Ibanez Mikro Bass and tuned so it would be ready for Christmas. After tuning I checked the intonation and string action and must say I was impressed with the overall initial setup and sound. I should have taken a picture; but, I packaged it up for Christmas. It is the blue bass that looks real nice next to my Blue Aerodyne Precision Bass.
I think your grandson is getting a wonderful gift....The gift of music...well done.. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!
That's really great. Your grandson is lucky to have you. Too many people these days don't encourage music or don't have the patience to be bothered by the "noise" The grief my sister endured from my parents when practicing the oboe was enough to keep me from pursuing music until my teens
They can't play; but, their working on stage presence. The bass player is my grandson and the guitar player is my grandson to be after my daughter and his dad are married.
Except the kids look way more intelligent the Bill & Ted. Way more... Cool picture though of the grandsons.
I dunno, looks might be deceiving. After all, they were smart enough to construct not one, but two, Ontological (aka: "Bootstrap") Paradoxes, to help them in their most excellent adventure. Don't believe me? Let's ask Sean Carroll, a theoretical physicist from CalTech. And before anyone says, "How is this relevant to playing bass?!", I must point out there's a Fender-ish lookin' bass guitar peeking up from behind his right shoulder.
<sigh> Okay, fine. But for the record, if I were boppin' 'round the time-stream, I'd much rather have them in my time machine. That Marty Mc-what's-his-name is like a causal bull in a temporal china shop. @OldPlucker; I love the new pics! That Mikro looks just big enough for him at this stage, but with room for him to grow into it.
It's slightly big at this stage; but, he definitely has room to grow, His future step dad said lesson's are 15 minutes per day with him so he doesn't loose interest. He says my grandson's hand strength isn't quite strong enough to push the string on the fret.
