  5. Congrats on your new bass!

When my son, who played a Fender Precision for the high school jazz band for three years, graduated a year and a half ago, he wanted a new bass for his graduation gift. He had done a fair bit of research and had his heart set on a specific bass. Meanwhile, I had to do some homework for myself for a suitable choice, ie the best bang for MY buck, after he told me he didn't want another Fender.

Wouldn't you know it, both of us ended up with exactly the same bass for our choices - Ibanez SR1205E! (5-string) We both feel it was the right choice.

This can be run passive or active and the Active EQ is greatly underrated in my limited opinion so far.. great range , control, and wiht 2 selecteable midrange, add the nordstrand bite and there is lots here to play with... and albeit am tipthy (1:30am) i am very impressed at the range on tonal variation :D
