Sigh... G.A.S. strikes again... So, I'm playing the NAMM Metal Jam in Anaheim on the 21st (which is AWESOME!), and I don't want to lug a bass with me. Last year, I was able to borrow one, but that option isn't available to me this year, so what do I do? Go on Ebay, and snag a 1985 Gibson Explorer bass. Been wanting one for years, and this was enough "justification" to buy one, hahaha!!! It's on it's way to L.A., where I will meet up with it in a couple of weeks! Cheers!
Nice bass and hard to find for sure. Congrats! Is it 34" scale? P.S. I will be in Ottawa on business on the 21st ... Wanna trade? Late Jan in Ottawa makes Toronto weather feel tropical. Have fun in Anaheim!
32" scale as far as I know. 21 frets, too. It was funny, as soon as I found out I wasn't going to be able to borrow a bass, I jumped on Ebay, and there it was for a decent price (has a headstock repair), so I jumped on it! AND it comes with an ATA flight case, too!! Poor you coming here in the middle of January. I have been going to the NAMM Show every year since 2004 (missed 2 because of gigs, though). It's SO nice to GTFO of here in the middle of the coldest part of winter. Hope you don't have it TOO bad when you come. Cheers!
That is sharp, both figuratively and literally! "In the name of St. Hendrix and St. Dio, I give you the right to be MOST METAL! Now, go my son…rock the faces of the masses until they bleed a river of mosh-pits!!"
That custom case wasn't cheap so you know the person loved it and that bass could definitely moonlight as a murder weapon.
