Well, I didn’t need a new bass, but I got seduced by the siren song of this D. Lakin 5734. This is the actual model currently posted on his website. Apparently it was one of two he brought to NAMM in early 2020. If it plays half as good as it looks I’ll be in business

  2. Congrats! Killer looking! Spitfire pickguards are so expensive but look so good.

Thanks. Yeah, there is something about the Spitfire pick guards.

I am not usually a sunburst/tort guy, but this is ridiculous.

    It makes me want one.

So how does she play? I'm not where I've been but seeing that Lakin can make a 30" has me more than interested.

It plays beautifully. It’s so well balanced and I love the neck. Pretty much flawless.
