Another sweet CL find. I traded a SWR Workingman's 2004 200 watt head for this. Well worth the trade as I just completed my new rig with a Avatar 410 and a Markbass Nano 300. I could have paid the low asking price but I just bought a Michael Kelly AEB Dragonfly and an OLP beater bass for close to nothing so the SWR went. This is an incredible little bass. Beautiful and very clean after an hours worth of work, new strings and it was actually intonated and set up perfectly. The guy I bought it from didn't really offer too much info. But it looks like he cleans out storage units for a living. As that's where I got it. My first short scale bass and man is it fast on the neck. It sounds great and really deep. I'm in love with it. It is so light and easy to play. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something new.
Those Epis are way superior to the low end Hofners IMO, and a fraction of the price. Nice find, solidly built but lightweight bass. Nice find.
These really are great basses. I just sold one because I am downsizing and opted to keep my Hofner as my fiddle but these are the muscle version of the violin bass variations, very solid as well as toneful.
