"WOW" is all I can say So then I ordered one of these (no affiliation): http://www.theperfectbass.com/music-man-bass-cases.cfm
Thanks guys! I've actually decided to go back to all 4 stringers by getting this. I'll be putting my Stingray 5 up in the classifieds soon; I just couldn't get with the tighter string spacing. So far I'm super impressed!
Nice bass! I see you are in Dearborn Heights, I am in Allen Park. Mind if I ask where you picked it up? I was looking for one just like that two days ago, but I ended up going with a Stealth HH model.
Don't see the natural finish enough these days--IMO one of the best if not the best choice for a ray. Looks awesome!
I love the tolex G&G case. I didn't know they shipped with those now. I was just at bass central last week and tried out a classic Sabre. it had the normal ABS plastic case.
Hey guys thanks for the kind words! Yea I just happened to check perfectbass.com at the same time I checked basscentral and saw those GG tolex cases for Musicman. I couldn't order one fast enough. I love these old school GG cases for some reason..
Beautiful bass! The natural finish is one of my favorites I also love the Translucent White . I agree about the spacing if Sterling started offering a wider spacing option ,I would be all over a classic five.
sexy basses. I used to own one. Perfect except for the fact that the tone was too mellow for my liking and it was kinda heavy
Looks to me like you have a one piece body there, I was very close to making an excuse to buy one like this except with a rosewood board. It had a one piece body with an awesome grain. MM does a great job of matching the grain in their 2 or 3 pice bodies, it took me years to notice my first SR4 is a three piece body. I'm not saying a one piece is better for any real reason, just kinda cool....
Beautiful bass! Just curious, do you have the original case AND the G&G you got from The Perfect Bass? When you bought it from Bass Central, it DID ship in a regular MM case, didn't it? So now you have two cases for it?
EBMM Stingrays use to come with wood/tolex cases, but they switched to the cheap plastic cases sometime in the mid 90s -- just after they stopped putting a real finish on the necks. I am a little disappointed that they don't offer a nicer more period correct case for the classics -- they didn't get the bridge right on the new Sabre either. Such is life... Nice bass, btw
