I've been playing bass since I was 11-12 and I always thought that I'd never have the money for an American bass. Fast forward 11 year, and I have a decent job, am getting fairly consistent gigs, and I could finally justify getting an Fender American Professional Jazz Bass! I really love Fender's Lake Placid Blue, but they do not currently have any in their J-Bass line-up, so I ordered from the Mod-Shop. 30 days later, this bad boy arrives. I'm sorry if you disagree, but Lake Placid Blue with a tort pick-guard is one of the most beautiful color combinations IMO. It gives off a vintage vibe, and I love that. I can't wait for many years of playing some sweet tunes on this guy.

Looks great, congrats. It does feel like finally having "the real deal" somehow, doesn’t it?

It sure is so nice to finally get that kind of instrument you first set eyes on so long ago. You know, the ones that when you were a kid and even not so much a kid, the shop discouraged you from touching. "Are you really gonna buy? Okay, that’s enough". Cue Wayne’s World.

    Anyway, that’s over

    Nice bass.

Would look better with black or white pearl pickguard though.

    That is absolutely beautiful. Congrats!

I've been tempted by the mod shop, maybe one of these days.

I like the color and the tort pickguard. I like the Rosewood fretboard and that bridge even more! I'm also very curious about that case. Did that come with the bass from the Mod-Shop?
